Antique Lyre Clock, £6750

Antique French ormolu lyre clock garniture with swinging paste set pendulum.

The lyre shaped case with bead gilt bronze borders and gilded trailing leaf in the open frame, surmounted by a gilt bronze garland and suspended flowers. Standing on a red marble, stepped elliptical pedestal with ormolu decoration and bun feet.

White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, garland decoration and pierced gilt lyres shaped hands.

Eight-day movement with anchor escapement striking the hour and half hour on a bell. The 5 rod grid-iron pendulum with knife edge suspension hung from the top and connected to a ring set with brilliants surrounding the dial with a counter balance behind, in front of the bell the whole pendulum swings from side to side.

Dimensions of clock: 18″/46cm high 7.5″/19cm wide 5.5″/14cm deep

The pair of single sconce gilt bronze and marble candlesticks are 8″ 20cm high.
