Description
An antique 18ct yellow gold ruby and diamond five-stone ring.
This gorgeous piece is set with three round rubies and two old-cut diamonds, each carefully set in a yellow gold claw setting. The sides of the setting have a punched hole design which adds extra detail to the ring as well as allowing more light to reach the stones.
The rubies are a beautiful bright pink-red colour which is perfectly complemented by the warm tone of the yellow gold setting. The diamonds add a subtle sparkle and brightness to the ring. The old-cut diamond has a unique shimmer which adds to the allure of this antique ring.
The band of the ring is made of 18ct yellow gold and has a slim and elegant design. The shoulders of the band have a decorative engraved detail and scroll motif designs as they meet the setting of the piece. The inner band is engraved with: “J.McD. TO R.G. 2/3/08”. This allows the ring to be dated back to the Edwardian era, circa 1908.
This is a unique and fascinating ring with plenty of history and charm. It would make the perfect gift for those who love antique jewellery.
