Description
An impressive antique Scottish brooch set with agate and citrine. This fascinating brooch has a large oval faceted deep yellow citrine centre stone. It is mounted in a raised six claw setting and sits proudly at the heart of the piece. Surrounding the citrine are agate stones of varying colours, cut into semi-circles, with smaller agates set in between. Each stone is circled by its gold setting, with intricate engraved detail in the metal.
The brooch is secured by a gold pin to the reverse which is in excellent condition.
The citrine centre stone measures approximately 21 mm x 16 mm.
The brooch measures 5.5 cm in width and 4.5 cm in height.
