Description
An antique 1920s platinum and 18ct gold diamond and pearl pendant. This gorgeous unique necklace has a diamond set pendant with two distinct drop sections. The pendant is crafted in 18ct yellow gold at the back and is tipped with platinum.
The top section of the pendant has a beautiful and intricate scroll design, encrusted with small pavé set rose-cut diamonds. The edges of the pendant have an intricate millgrain design, a beaded edge which adds an elegant touch of detail to the piece.
Each drop of the pendant is decorated with three old-cut diamonds, separated by thin platinum and gold articulated bars. The diamonds are bezel set and also have delicate millgrain edges, accentuating their sparkle.
At the ends of the two drops are two different focal points. The first is a bright and dazzling old-cut diamond. It is perfectly showcased in an eight-claw platinum setting; the white metal enhances the beauty and white colour of the diamond. The second drop features a lustrous white pearl which adds a touch of soft elegance to the piece.
This antique necklace dates back to the Art Deco period, circa 1920. The use of millgrain edges and old-cut and pavé set diamonds are typical features seen in jewellery from this time. They highlight the care taken and excellent craftsmanship of designing this piece.
The pendant is fitted to a fine platinum 14″ chain. The pendant measures approximately 38 mm in length.
