Description
A beautiful Victorian ring adorned with five cabochon opals. The stones display a gorgeous array of vibrant colours and shimmer like a rainbow. Between each pair of opals is a pair of rose cut diamonds. Rose cut diamonds were one of the first cuts of diamonds, cut by hand by skilled diamond cutters to optimise sparkle in candlelight. The cut has small triangular facets across its entire top, its faceting is meant to look like the swirling petals of a rose.
The stones are set in 18ct yellow gold gallery and the sides are carved with an intricate scroll motif adding lovely detail. The ring is fully hallmarked London, 1898. It curves around the finger nicely so it is comfortable to wear either as a dress ring or an engagement ring.
