An impressive large shell cameo framed in a 9ct yellow gold rubover mount. This beautiful vintage piece can be worn as a brooch with a secure pin with a safety clasp to the reverse. It also has a bale which means it may also be worn as a pendant. The bale is hinged and folds away so that it is not seen when worn as a brooch.
The carving of this cameo is extremely intricate and detailed, portraying the profile of a woman with flowers. From her gorgeous flowing locks and curls of hair, to the engraved detail of her dress, this piece displays excellent craftsmanship.
The background of the cameo is a deep brown and the portrait is a creamy white, creating a perfect contrast.
