Description
An 18ct yellow gold marquise shaped ring with an opal centre and diamond cluster.
This exquisite antique ring dates back to the Victorian era. The stamp inside the shank of the ring shows that it was hallmarked in Chester, 1897.
This piece showcases a beautiful oval opal stone at its centre, mounted in a yellow gold six-claw setting. The opal is of a lovely quality with bright flashes of red, blue and green. The centre stone is framed by a cluster of 14 old-cut claw-set diamonds which form a marquise shape. The old-cut diamonds have a subtle and elegant glimmer which brightens up the piece and perfectly complements the opal.
The yellow gold shank splits at the shoulders and has beautiful scroll motif details along the sides. This intricate metalwork adds to the beauty of the design of this ring.
