Description
A vintage oval shell cameo brooch mounted in 9ct yellow gold. This lovely and intricately carved piece is displayed in a gold case with a rubover setting which has millgrain detail. The edge of the case has a beautiful scalloped edge.
The cameo has been made by carving into the outer layer of a shell. The shell has been carved to portray the profile of a woman with a decorative flower motif. The backgroud of the cameo is a rich orange and the portrait is a creamy white.
This vintage cameo brooch is hallmarked at the back as 9ct gold, Birmingham 1977.
The brooch measures 4 cm x 3 cm.
