Description
A vintage 9ct yellow gold shell cameo brooch dated circa 1955. This is a classic oval design cameo mounted in a yellow gold setting. The setting has a delicate roped edge surrounding the cameo and a larger gold twist design circling the brooch.
This shell cameo has been intricately carved to portray the profile of a woman. The shell has two layers, the woman has been carved into the white layer with the brown-orange layer of the shell creating the contrasting background.
The size of the brooch is 4 cm x 3 cm.
