The process of selling your items is very simple and discreet. We pay by cheque immediately upon receipt of goods and can allow a period of guaranteed pricing if you wish to think about an offer, there is never any pressure to make a quick decision.
Goodwins use a range of specialist workshops where craftsmen undertake a full range of repairs on silver and jewellery both antique and modern. Small repairs can be undertaken in house.
We also offer a pearl restringing service and can arrange for stone re-polishing and certification of gemstones. A full estimate is always provided before any work begins.
Goodwins offer a comprehensive hand-engraving service on all precious metals by hugely experienced engravers with specific expertise.
From seal engraving crests onto rings to initials on a silver napkin ring we will ensure your item is professionally engraved to your specification.
We can suggest styles and fonts or take instructions as to a clients’ preference.
Goodwins offer a comprehensive range of valuation services. Silver valuations are carried out in house by Mr Goodwin and jewellery and watch valuations are carried out by our independent valuer. We charge 1.5 percent on all silver valuations with a minimum fee of £50.
Jewellery valuations are charged on a per item basis and an estimate will be provided on inspection of the items requiring valuation. An example of our jewellery valuation fees are as follows:
Document fee £85
Gem set item fee £75
Non gem set item fee £50
Watch fee £75
Grouping of items under £500 (total of 10 items per grouping) £75 per group.
All items are fully insured whilst they are with us.
