Description
A sterling silver mounted antique claret jug of cylindrical bulbous form. The handle is of vine pattern, connected to the sterling silver mount, which is embossed with grapes, vine leaves and the head of pan. There is a sterling silver strap on the cylinder portion of the jug which gives extra solidity to the mount. The spout is embossed with grapes and vine leaves. The hallmarked hinged dome lid is embossed with grapes and vine leaves with a finial in the form of a lion rampant holding a shield.
